Ellen Rolli, Artist Statement...Encouraged at a young age by family and High School art teachers to stay on an artistic path, I followed my dream to attend the Massachusetts College of Art.  I graduated in 1978 with a BFA in Art Education and a minor in painting.  I have had career experience as art educator, a graphic designer, a muralist and an Assistant manager of an Art Gallery.  At mid-life, with a Studio to call my own, it is with brush in hand, standing at my easel, that I am truly fulfilled.  A member of several Art Associations including the Copley Society of Art in Boston, I enjoy doing demos, teaching workshops, judging exhibitions, and painting in my Boston Studio.  My work has received many awards, including the Sam Sargent Award for Best of Show, and my paintings hang in numerous private collections.  I am represented by the Left Bank Gallery of Orleans and Welfleet, MA and the Hourglass Gift Gallery of Melrose, MA.  I teach one-day painting workshops at my studio at Gallery 229 450 Harrison Ave. Boston, please contact ellenrolli@comcast.net for information. My studio is open by appointment or at Open Studios, the first Friday evening of every month.
