The Melrose Arts and Cultural Association (MACA) is dedicated to encouraging the arts in Melrose, Massachusetts.  MACA has begun a summer series of Art Classes for Kids at the Milano Center, in addition to the very successful Artist Demonstration Series begun last year.

MACA sponsored the 2008 Melrose Arts Festival on April 12-13, 2008 at Memorial Hall.  The exhibition featured 41 Fine Artists displaying their own works, with live music, catered food and a gala preview on Friday evening. This community event was a grand success!

Melrose was settled in the 1640's, and remained a rural community for 200 years.  With the arrival of trains in the 1840's it became a desirable suburb of Boston.  The rapid expansion created the Victorian  architecture of much of Melrose, which is prized by its citizens today.
