Melrose Hosts Annual Juried Arts Festival

New features this year include online art raffle, largest number of artist exhibitors ever, newly added craft exhibitors, and extended viewing hours

 

               Event:      The Melrose Arts and Cultural Association (MACA) holds its annual Arts Festival April 16-18 at Memorial Hall in Melrose. The three day festival is a juried show featuring original fine art and fine craft by nearly 50 artist exhibitors from Melrose and surrounding areas. This year MACA also introduces a Fine Arts Raffle to coincide with the festival.

 

          When:       Raffle begins online March 15 and closes at Memorial Hall 4pm April 18

                            Art Festival Preview Party -- Friday April 16: 7:00-10PM,  $10 entry includes live music by The Mike Wyatt Group, complimentary snacks, cash bar

                            Saturday April 17: 11AM to 8PM,   FREE admission, extended hours

                            Sunday April 18: 11AM to 5PM,  FREE admission

Raffle Details:        A fine arts raffle replaces the festival’s silent auction. Tickets are $20, and only 75 tickets will be sold for each artwork.  Enter to win a watercolor by Tom Sutherland, fine jewelry by Nancy Roll, photography by Tom Savage, acrylic painting by Ellen Rolli, mosaic by Lisa Tiemann, or oil painting by Will Kirkpatrick. Artwork may be viewed at Miter Biter frame shop in Melrose. Raffle tickets may be purchased online through April 16,  and during the Festival weekend.  The winners will be drawn 4PM April 18. The raffle supports MACA’s continued efforts to encourage the artistic vibrancy of our community.
