MELROSE ARTS FESTIVAL 2009
MACA (Melrose Arts and Cultural Association) is seeking applicants for its annual Spring Arts Festival at Memorial Hall in Melrose. The three day Festival held on April 3-5 is a juried show and features original art work by painters, printmakers, photographers, and sculptors. The goal in producing the Arts Festival is to have an event that presents local Melrose artists as well as artists from surrounding areas. 40% of the festival spaces will be reserved for Melrose artists. All the artist applications will be juried by Michael Price.
Show hours are Friday April 3: 7:30-10PM, Saturday April 4: 11AM to 8PM, and Sunday April 5: 11AM to 5PM. The Melrose Arts Festival includes live musical entertainment throughout the weekend and catered food in a café setting. Memorial Hall is an extremely attractive historic Melrose Landmark, centrally located and easily accessed by public transportation. Based on past experience, almost 2000 visitors are expected to attend this free public event. The Melrose Arts Festival, now in it 4th year, has become eagerly anticipated in the community and there will be very extensive local and regional advertising, including Boston and Cambridge.
Applications must postmarked or delivered by Nov. 30, 2008.
